Cincinnati is home to a modern airport, with many regular daily flights and major airlines. Officially named the Cincinnati Municipal Lunken Airport, this busy transport hub is roughly 20 minutes from the city center and began its life as a small commercial airfield in the 1920s.
Over the subsequent decades, the airport was expanded on a number of occasions, with the building of terminals and extending of runways. Today, roughly 125,000 passengers come here every month and annual aircraft movements now hover around 110,000. During its history, many well-known figures have chosen to fly into Cincinnati's premier air facility, including renowned American aviator Charles Lindbergh in 1927, and world-famous Liverpudlian rock band The Beatles in 1964. More recently, Air Force One landed here in 2007, when President Bush visited the city as part of a fundraising event at Hyde Park.

The Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG) serves both domestic and international airlines and is to be found just 13 miles / 20 km to the southwest of Cincinnati center, being located on the southern side of the Ohio River and between the suburbs of Burlington and Erlanger.

Terminals
Cincinnati airport comes with three large terminal buildings, each of which is connected by courtesy shuttles.

Cars
By car, the journey into Cincinnati city center is straightforward and should last approximately 30 minutes, when traffic conditions are not heavy. Many prominent roads are situated nearby, including the State Route 212, which in turn leads to the I-275, the I-71 and the I-75 interstates. The Donaldson Highway 236 skirts the eastern side of the airfield, heading in a southeasterly direction and connecting the I-71 and the Turfway Square Shopping Center.
Buses
Served throughout the day by numerous buses, the Northern Kentucky Airport offers a mixture of shared-ride vans and shuttles. The JetPort Express Shuttle service connects the city center and other areas of Kentucky twice an hour, between 06:00 to 22:00. Also, TANK buses travel into both Cincinnati and Covington every day, running between 05:00 and midnight. Bus stops can be found outside of the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 buildings.
Taxis
Taxis are plentiful and usually easy to locate. Cabs can be requested at the dedicated taxi desk within Terminal 3, while there is also a courtesy telephone available within Terminal 2's baggage reclaim area.
