Glitzy MGM Grand Casino
The MGM Grand Casino is a grand building and has a definite Vegas vibe. The gaming tables are spread around and there are lots and lots of slot machines. It can get busy at times, so you may need to wait your turn for a seat at a table to play Black Jack or roulette. Many people come here now just for the restaurants, which were excellent, and also the cocktail bars. There is even a large shopping center here as well.

Detroit Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and Gardens
The Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and the surrounding gardens are on the Belle Isle and full of exotics. There is a big palm house in the ceenter and also a nice water garden. Other features are a rose garden, lots of spring flowers and bulbs, and loads of beautiful orchids. It is off the Inselruhe Avenue and does not charge an entrance fee - bargain!

Visiting the Detroit Science Center
The Detroit Science Center is a good attraction. There was a superb exhibit about the human body and was interesting and entertaining and not at all boring like it so easily could have been. You will probably spend a few hours here, but not really a whole day. There was also an outstanding planetarium - mega good. This is close to the Institute of Arts.
