Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village

Located just outside Detroit in Henry Ford's birthplace of Dearborn, the Henry Ford Museum and adjacent Greenfield Village are the Motor City region's most prestigious attractions. Visitors are invited to take part in a veritable history-fest by simply strolling through the center's immensely varied displays showcasing historic airplanes, automobiles, homes and much more. Henry Ford Estate - Fair Lane

Just outside of Detroit in the suburb of Dearborn rests the home of Henry Ford and his wife, Clara. The 56-room stone mansion, known as Fair Lane, draws electricity from a hydropower house that was built with the help of Thomas Edison and has been declared a National Historic Landmark. Besides allowing for perusal of the home's interior with its abundant and exquisitely carved wood features, tours of the Henry Ford Estate take in the Ford Discovery Trail, vegetable garden, pony barn, skating house and more.

Scott Fountain

Located on the 'floating park' of Belle Isle, the gorgeous Scott Fountain commemorates James Scott, who donated the funds for its construction in his will. The fountain is a strikingly beautiful work of art consisting of bowls and basins, embellished with animals and mythical creatures carved from Italian white marble.
