Detroit Art Galleries

(Detroit, Michigan - MI, USA)

Many tourists spending time in this huge city choose to pay a visit to the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) gallery on Woodward Avenue, where highlights include a spectacular collection of art works by masters such as Rubens, Rembrandt, Picasso and Van Gogh. However, whilst the Detroit Institute of Arts is without doubt the city's premier gallery, there are also a number of additional art galleries scattered around the downtown district and its surrounding suburbs.

Conveniently nearby the Institute of Arts, another gallery to look out for is the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD), which also resides on Woodward Avenue and within the city's cultural center. Fans of modern art may like to visit the very established Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit (CAID) on the Rosa Parks Boulevard, which has recently been completely remodeled and serves as both a gallery space for exhibitions and art-related events / performances.
