Edgar Allan Poe House

Built in 1830, Baltimore's Edgar Allan Poe House was once home to the author famous for penning many spine-tingling stories. Now open for public viewing, the house contains artifacts from the writer's life and much of its original décor. During the Halloween season in Baltimore, the house plays host to a number of spooky theatrical presentations.

Washington Monument and Museum at Mount Vernon Place

Standing 178 feet / 54 meters high, Baltimore's Washington Monument was America's first heroic and civic monument to pay tribute to George Washington. Constructed back in 1815 by Robert Mills, this impressive monument offers visitors great views of the city from its 228-step high vantage point.

Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine

Hailed as the birthplace of the American national anthem, the Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine is one of Baltimore's most famous landmarks and points of interest. The site is open to the public and offers visitor programs that take in some of the fascinating aspects of history related to the area, most notably the events of the War of 1812. The site is now under the ownership and care of the Baltimore National Park Service and is the association's only area with both National Park and Historic Shrine Status.

Holocaust Memorial and Sculpture

Situated in downtown Baltimore, near the Inner Harbor, the Holocaust Memorial and Sculpture has stood as a visual reminder since 1980 of the six million Jews whose lives ended at the hands of the Nazis during WWII.

Maryvale Castle

Built in 1913 and modeled on England's Warwick Castle, Maryvale Castle was once home to the highly respected Dr. Walter F. Wickes. Set in 115 acres / 47 hectares of Baltimore's Greenspring Valley, the castle is currently owned by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and houses the Maryvale Trinity College Preparatory School.

Star Spangled Banner Flag House

Founded in 1927, the Star Spangled Banner Flag House is among the oldest of all of Baltimore's museums and has become an important landmark in this area of the city. The facility is owned by the Star Spangled Banner Flag House Association, which was formed with the intention of preserving the great story of Mary Young Pickersgill, the woman responsible for making the giant 30 by 42-foot Star Spangled Banner that flew proudly over Fort McHenry during the War of 1812. Visitors can take a tour in which they will learn more about this woman and her significant role during the war.
