Spring in Tampa is warm in the daytime, although the nights feature a cooler climate and showers may occur.

The wet season begins around June and goes through to September, with July and August being the hottest months of the year, when temperatures can rise above 32°C / 90°F. There is also the possibility of thunderstorms during late summer, but these do not last long. Hurricanes can occur throughout the summer season and continue until November.


Autumn weather, from September through November, is a pleasant time to visit Tampa, although hurricanes can still occur.

The winter months are December through May, with the months of December, January and February featuring the coolest climate of the year, when January daytime temperatures drop to around 22°C / 70°F. Wintertime is a popular time for visitors to Tampa and winter also enjoys the driest weather of the year.
