Whistler Parks and Gardens

(Whistler, British Columbia - BC, Canada)

Summer image of Rainbow ParkAround the Whistler area and some very appealing parks, which really come to life in the spring, and the cold winter season quickly becomes a thing of the past. Summer offers a range of outdoor attractions around Whistler, with beaches being available at both Rainbow park and Lost Lake.

When the sun in high in the sky and clouds are nowhere to be seen, there really is no nicer place to spend an afternoon than the Lakeside Park, close to the Blueberry Hill area. However, when the snowy winter arrives, the Coca-Cola Tube Park and its inflatable 'tubes' offers a very easy alternative to those not wishing to ski or snowboard, being highly suitable for children.

The Coca-Cola Tube Park is a relatively new addition to the winter attractions of Whistler and arrived in the Blackcomb Mountain Resort at the start of the 2005 winter season. Tubing consists of zooming down a fairly gentle slope onboard a round inflatable craft, with clearly defined, carved lanes to safely guide you on your way. The Coca-Cola Tube Park is located within Blackcomb's Base 2 Zone and features around eight different lanes of varying speeds, each stretching around 300 metres / 985 feet in length. Fire pits are usually close by should you need to warm up, while a lift is on hand, meaning that you can easily reach the top and save your energy for the exciting ride back down again.
