The art scene within Whistler is surprisingly established and tourists will be greeted by a very impressive selection of art galleries, with many public exhibitions on hand. Founded in the early part of the 1990s, the Whistler Village Art Gallery specialises in modern art works of various mediums, and is the most established and historical art gallery in this part of British Columbia.

The Whistler Village Art Gallery is particularly unusual, in that its exhibitions are spread between two separate locations, with its many gallery being located at the Hilton Whistler Resort, and a subsequent venue at the Four Seasons Resort.


Other art galleries within this bustling resort town include the Black Tusk Gallery on the Mountain Square Art Gallery Row, which showcases works by renowned north-west Coast Native artists, with highlights including sculptures, masks, weaved baskets, pottery, jewellery and even totem poles.

The Luminaura Whistler is amongst the town's newest galleries and specialises in modern art, delicate jewellery and stylish glass works, being famous for its very unusual crystal glass leaves. Situated in the town centre, the Path Gallery has become known for its First Nations Native artwork and north-west Coast Salish pieces, and boasts some very funky contemporary sculptures.
