Whistler Hotels and Accommodation

(Whistler, British Columbia - BC, Canada)

Picture of the Pan Pacific WhistlerIf you want to stay in the heart of things, then accommodation in central Whistler certainly comes at a price. However, since hotels in Whistler are at their busiest during the winter ski season, summer lodging is substantially cheaper and discounts at this time of the year can generally be predicted with a good degree of accuracy.

Local accommodation can be booked through the resort's very own Whistler Central Reservations service. However, when booking up for a winter break, do note that many hotels now come with a strict 30-day cancellation policy, and if you do need to cancel your room, you may be liable to pay for a minimum of three nights - at raised winter prices.

Where to Stay

The winter season in Whistler runs roughly between November and May, depending upon levels of snowfall, being centered around the Blackcomb Resort. This area has grown to be something of a skiing Mecca and the winter months see an enormous demand on accommodation.

If you are planning a winter break in style, then Whistler hotels don't come much grander or more impressive that the upscale Fairmont Chateau Whistler on the Blackcomb Way. Similar luxury lodging comes in the form of the Pan Pacific Lodge, or the popular Westin Resort, which boasts ski-in / ski-out facilities.

Alternatively, camping sites are available to the north of Whistler, such as the nearby Riverside RV Resort and Campground, while budget ski lodges and hotels reside within the Nordic Estates region and next to Highway 99. Mid-range hotels and similar lodging options are not plentiful and the best of the bunch include the centrally located Delta Whistler Village Suites on Main Street, the Mountainside Lodge on Sundial Place, and the private Idylwood Inn Whistler Chalet, which comprises two chalets and is handy for the Alpine Meadows Sport Centre.
