Due to the cold and snowy winter weather, the majority of the golf courses in Edmonton are extremely seasonal and tend to only open from April through October, unless the winter season is shorter and milder than expected.

One to look out for is the Victoria Golf Course, which stands in the beautiful River Valley area and is famous for being Canada's oldest municipal course. Dating back to the middle of the 1890s, the Victoria Course was actually established before the city of Edmonton was officially founded.
