The modern Hamilton Bermuda L. F. Wade International Airport is the main entry point to the Atlantic island of Bermuda. It mainly receives flights from
US and Canadian cities, although there is also a flight from
London. The well-equipped, single terminal handles around 300 flights a day in June and August, and a total of almost one million passengers per year.
The airport hails from the early 1940s, when it was a US Army / Air Force base known as Kindley Field. It has three runways, although only one runway is in operation today. The terminal comes with three floors, 40 check-in desks and eight gates. Car hire is not permitted on the island. However, arriving passengers can arrange motorcycle, scooter or moped rental.

Jamaica).

The airport is located 16 km / 10 miles from the capital city of Hamilton, which resides to the south-west. Hamilton sits roughly in the middle of
Bermuda. The terminal is split into two sections, with separate UK and US / Canadian departures areas. Of note to travellers, the airport is operational from 05:00 to midnight.

Cars and Scooters
Since tourists are not allowed to drive cars on Bermuda, car hire is not available here. However, scooter rental can be arranged directly at the airport or elsewhere in Bermuda. It is roughly a 20-minute trip to Hamilton from the airport, although you should allow longer if you are heading to the beaches in the south.
Buses
Buses run every 15 minutes during the day to the capital from the Hamilton Bermuda LF Wade International Airport, with a journey time of about 30 minutes. Minibuses serve destinations farther afield and can be pre-booked. Visitors on all-inclusive tours usually get transfers included with the deal. Passengers should be aware that airport public buses do not allow luggage.
Taxis
Metered taxis pick up passengers from Arrivals and are available for all flights. Prices are high to any destination, including Hamilton, with fares paid in either US or Bermudian dollars. You can pre-book taxis and limousines to ensure a punctual departure if required.
Ferries
Ferries sail to various harbours, marinas and coastal destinations around Bermuda from nearby St. George's, which is about a five-minute taxi ride from the airport.
