Hamilton Beaches and Water Sports

(Hamilton, Pembroke, Bermuda)

Photograph showing Elbow BeachBermuda's pink-sand beaches are legendary, and there are several within easy reach of Hamilton. Elbow Beach is probably the most popular, as a bevy of coral reefs keep the waters calm and quite swimmable.

Shelley Bay is found on the opposite side of the island, on North Shore Road, where it usually goes unnoticed by tourists. This beach is quiet and relatively secluded, despite being easily accessible from Hamilton. Both of these beaches rent out chairs and snorkelling equipment, but Elbow also has kayaks and other water sports equipment on hand.

General Information

Especially close to the city of Hamilton and within its parish of Pembroke are the beaches of Clarence Cove, which lie on the northerly shore, next to the Spanish Point.

Close by and just a short distance from the Admiralty House Park is Deep Bay, which is home to another recommended public beach, while a further stretch of tempting sand lies alongside Stovell Bay.

Just across the waterfront and to the south, Paget Parish is where Elbow Beach is located, as well as Coco Reef, Coral Beach, Grape Bay, Hungry Bay and White's Island, the latter of which overlooks Hamilton Harbour.
