Around Cable, a good choice of water sports are possible, such as reef snorkelling, reef fishing, sailing and windsurfing.

Cable Beach is called home by a number of busy, recently revamped beachfront resorts and interestingly gained its name when a telegraphic cable was washed ashore here at the end of the 19th century. Amongst the main hotels and resorts around Cable Beach are the Nassau Beach Hotel, the Crystal Palace, the Sandals, the Sheraton Resort and the Wyndham.
