The Museo Etnográfico de Zerain, on the outskirts of San Sebastian, is worth a look and recreates village life many years ago, while for children visiting the San Sebastian area, the Itsas Marine Museum (Itsas Natura Escuela Museo del Mar) is a must.

The Itsas Marine Museum specialises in all things marine, with large collections of fossils, marine life displays and workshops. Close to San Sebastian, the Itsas Marine Museum is a popular family attraction and also organises local excursions to notable spots with high concentrations of marine life.

Museo Etnográfico de Zerain

Standing on the outskirts of San Sebastian, the Museo Etnográfico de Zerain is located in nearby Zerain. Recreating historic village life, the large outdoor museum contains a number of period buildings and detailed displays, showing how farming and rural skills have progressed over the years. The museum also features a sawmill, an old prison, a mine and regular audio-visual presentations.

Naval Museum (Museo Naval)

Full of naval, sailor and local port memorabilia, together with extensive collections of photographs, scale models of ships and boats, fishing equipment, and historic Basque maritime information about San Sebastian's port, the Naval Museum is worthy of a visit. Guided tours are available, together with an extensive library and important archives.

Basque Railroad Museum (Museo Vasco del Ferrocarril)

Situated on the outskirts of San Sebastian, in nearby Guipuzcoa, the Museo Vasco del Ferrocarril is full of railway history. Containing a large collection of historic railway carriages, showing the development of the railroad over the year, the museum also features a number of trains and related railroad memorabilia.
