Torremolinos Parks and Gardens

Despite being such a bustling and popular coastal resort, Torremolinos is actually home to a number of public gardens, where many colourful flowers and exotic plants grow, including bougainvillea, roses, rhododendrons, palms and large banana trees.

Featuring many seating areas and shady spots under mature palms, Torremolinos has actively planted literally hundreds of trees around the town, to make this resort greener and even more appealing. On the outskirts of Torremolinos you will also find a number of forests and heavily wooded areas, compete with natural ponds, springs, steams and scenic trails. Offering the perfect contrast from Torremolinos beach life, these forests are also known for their picnic facilities, with barbecues usually permitted.




Lovers of horticulture on holiday in Torremolinos may well like to check out the town's Botanical Gardens, which are known locally as El Molino de Inca Botanical Jardin and are based around two historic mills, with their giant waterwheels still in operation today. The surrounding gardens are filled with exotic fauna, including palm trees, tropical flowers and fruit trees, while pathways connect the main places of interest, vantage points and sculptures.

Providing an important open space and a good alternative to the beaches of Torremolinos, the Parque la Bateria lies on the western side of town and was formerly used as a base for the military. Today, there is a large lake, trails for cycling, a playground for young children, lots of mature trees and a tall tower overlooking the bayfront.
