Glasgow MarketsThere are certainly more than a handful of markets located within the city of Glasgow. Barras has been Scotland's largest market for almost 100 years and features around 1,000 stalls, with nine distinct areas. This vast market is often known as the Barrowland and is full of a wide range of bargains, including clothes, jewellery, furniture, art work, collectors' items, food stalls, cafés and much more besides.

Further popular markets in Glasgow sell all kinds of produce from Scotland and can be found in areas such as Bridgegate, Drumchapel, Easterhouse, Govan, Mansfield Park, Parkhead, Possilpark and South Clydebank, amongst other locations. The Savoy Centre is a good bet for a rainy day, with its 120 'units' all being located indoors, over two floors, attracting just under 50,000 shoppers each week. A popular Chinese restaurant is situated on the upper floor, should you fancy an oriental-style lunch.

Located in the East End of Glasgow, Barras Market is also home to the large and popular Barras Farmers' Market, which is held on the last Saturday each month. Visitors can expect all kind of fresh farm produce, including seasonal fruit and vegetables, cheeses, fish, meat, poultry, eggs, bread, cakes and fish, much of which is organic.

Paddies Market
