The West Midland Safari Park itself comprises a 6.5-km / 4-mile drive, along which you will pass by roughly 600 animals from all over the world. Some of the most notable animals living here include rare addax antelopes and Pére David's deer, Bactrian camels, African elephants, hippos, Amur leopards, Bengal tigers, Burchell's zebras and an unusual pride of white lions.

General Information

The West Midland Safari and Leisure Park is divided into a series of different themed enclosures, plains and attractions. The main animal enclosures are named the African Lion Reserve, African Reserve, African Wild Dogs, Asian Reserve, Bengal Tiger Reserve, Cheetah Plains, Elephant Reserve, Eurasian Reserve, Hippo Lakes, Kingdom of the White Lions, Wallaby Reserve and Wolf Wood.

A particularly popular and rather hands-on attraction is the park's Discovery Zone, where you can learn more about insects and reptiles. Come here to explore the 'Twilight Cave' and its nocturnal animals, watch performing sea lions in a huge 500-seat theatre, and enjoy the maritime creatures living within the SeaQuarium.

These fast rides are located just beyond the Hippo Lakes and include the plummeting New Venom Tower Drop, the exciting Zambezi Water Splash, Wild River Rafting, the Twister Coaster and also the Rhino Roller Coaster, amongst many others. For younger visitors, the Cubs Kingdom and its tamer selection of funfair rides is on hand.
