Lynton and Lynmouth Shopping and Districts

(Lynton and Lynmouth, North Devon, England, UK)

Photo of local shopping sceneThere is some good specialist shopping available in the Lynton and Lynmouth area and usually more than suits the needs of visitors and holiday makers, together with several mini supermarkets and grocery stores. Shops in these twin towns sell everything from food and drink, Devonshire gifts, paintings and sea shells, to seaside postcards and sweet confectionary, such as traditional Lynton and Lynmouth holiday rock and clotted cream Devon fudge.

Located at the Old Methodist Church and alongside the Town Hall at Lynton, the Lyn Valley Art and Craft Centre is a good place to shop for holiday souvenirs. Here you will find inexpensive ceramics, candles, handmade greetings cards, knitwear and more besides.

Where to Shop

On the Lee Road in Lynton, near to the Cliff Railway, the Studio is a very popular little shop, since it sells lots of essential supplies, such as batteries, magazines, comics, newspapers, stationery and guide books, as well as ice creams.

Nestled within nearby Malmsmead, in the Doone Valley, the Lorna Doone Farm has become known as a quality gift shop, supplying textiles, handbags, clothing and more. At Castle Hill in Lynton, Ethel Braithwaite's is a good place to pick up some tasty pasties and local scrumpy cider, although if you are prepared to travel just over an hour, then Sheppy's Cider at Taunton is famous for their selection of ciders and has been brewing in the West Country for more than 200 years.
