Odense Events and Festivals 2014 / 2015
(Odense, Region Syddanmark, Denmark)
A number of established festivals take place each year in the Danish city of Odense, meaning that there are often plenty of things to do here, especially if you arrive during the summer months. August is the month when one of the city's very biggest events takes place, the International Odense Film Festival.
Founded as long ago as 1975, the International Odense Film Festival screens various international films, including short fiction movies and documentaries. The event remains the most historic film festival in the whole of Denmark, and also the biggest of its kind.
As the autumn draws to an end, the Odense Folk Festival livens things up and is held towards the end of November. Events generally include a range of live folk music and dancing, performed by Danish folk artists, along with many from all over Europe.
