Aarhus Hotels and Accommodation

(Aarhus, Denmark)

Photo of the city centreThe majority of the hotels in Aarhus are known to be quite pricey, although if you look hard enough and are prepared to stay outside of the city centre, there are a number of accommodation options worth considering. However, most visitors choose to stay around central Aarhus, since for many, the sheer convenience outweighs the price.

If you are looking for budget lodging in Aarhus, the youth hostels are probably your best bet. A particularly popular hostel lies on the Havnegade, close to the Honnokajen Pier and the Mindebrogade, and just a short walk from the railway station and the University of Aarhus. Further afield and still a popular alternative to hotels, the Danhostel enjoys a woodland setting, some 3 km / 2 miles north of central Aarhus, and is well connected by regular buses, although the standard of accommodation is quite basic.

Where to Stay

Also close to Aarhus University is the 'Get-In' guesthouse, which stands along the Jens Baggesensvej, next to the modern Storcenter Nord shopping centre and the Vestre Ringgade (ring road). With over 60 cheap rooms and adequate accommodation, the Jens Baggesensvej resembles a hotel in many aspects and is worth considering.

Other hotels in central Aarhus can be found around the Banegardsplads, Europaplads, Guldsmedgade and the Kannikegade, and also on the Store Torv, where the Hotel Royal resides. Near to the Domkirke (Aarhus Cathedral), the Hotel Royal offers luxury accommodation, along with excellent city views and a lively casino.
