Most months experience a number of rainy days, with the wettest months in Brno being May, June, July and August, when you can expect to experience average precipitation levels of between 55 mm / 2.2 inches to 65 mm / 2.6 inches.

Rain is a prominent feature throughout the year and Brno is known to have rainy weather of some degree on around 150 days each year. However, although the summer weather in Brno can be a little damp at times, the climate is warm and there is still usually plenty of sunshine to enjoy. Between June and August, temperatures average 22°C / 72°F, often exceeding 25°C / 77°F and at times it is known to climb even higher.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

A year in the life of Brno sees almost 1,800 hours of sunshine and an annual rainfall of just over 500 mm / 20 inches. The climate rarely feels oppressive and overly hot, and many of the warmest days are cooled by refreshing north-westerly breezes.

The winter months in Brno can be extremely cold and bitter, with a number of attractions closing during this season. December and January tend to experience the coldest climate, when daytime temperatures manage to stay above freezing and sharp overnight frosts are expected. Although the weather in March and April is markedly improved, some infrequent frosts are not uncommon, dying out as April ends and spring well and truly arrives.
