The Moravian Museum is a particular highlight for many and was actually established as long ago as 1817, making it amongst the most historic of its kind in the whole of the Czech Republic. Housing literally millions of different artefacts and historical treasures, the Moravian Museum boasts exhibits relating to everything from extinct civilisations to medieval life.

Spilberk Castle is home to both the Museum of Prison Life and the Brno City Museum, where you can enjoy an extensive permanent collection relating to the construction of some of the city's most prominent monuments and buildings, together with a fine arts gallery.


Art lovers should also consider visiting the City Art Gallery on the Malinovského Námesti, along with the Moravian Gallery, which actually comprises three different venues - the Mistodrzitelsky Palace along the Moravské Námesti, and the Prazakuv Palace and the Applied Arts Museum (Umeleckoprumyslové Muzeum), both of which lie on the Husova.
