The regal Spielberg Castle
The Spielberg Castle is Brno was actually once a royal fortress and was built during the 13th century. We went inside and had a good poke around. There was a lot to see and some nice views out of the windows. Up until the 1950s there was even a prison here, but that has long gone nowadays. I'm told that courting couples like to walk up Spielberg Hill at night to count all of the stars. I couldn't persuade my wife though when I suggested it to her - she thought I'd gone a bit senile! :)

The Brno Cathedral
The Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral has an imposing edifice and you can see it from a long way away, because it is one the very top of the Petrin Hill. It was compelted in the 13th century. It has a very Gothic appearance and a grand entrance. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photographs when we got inside, but I think that I probably prefered the exterior anyway. I got some nice arty shots from the outside - move over David Bailey.
