August marks the very peak of the tourist season for Larnaca, when daytime temperatures average around 32°C / 90°F, and can even top 35°C / 95°F on some days. If you find this intense summer climate a little too hot at times, then try to sightsee early in the morning, avoid the midday heat by eating at an air-conditioned restaurant, and then enjoy the exciting evening atmosphere and entertainment on offer.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

The period from October to May is the quietest time for Larnaca residents, although the seasons of autumn, winter and spring can be quite appealing times to holiday on Cyprus. The spring and autumn climate in particular is warm, sunny, and reasonably dry, being perfect for walking and exploring the island.

Winter weather in Larnaca is best described as 'changeable'. Fine sunny spells seem to alternate with cooler, wet days. However, even in the winter it is unlikely that you will need a jacket or coat, unless it is especially breezy.
