Larnaca Restaurants and Dining

(Larnaca, Cyprus)

Image of al fresco dining tables in the summer sunshineThe dining scene in Larnaca is particularly diverse, with restaurants ranging from the most upmarket seafood eateries, to cheap kebab houses and themed British-style pubs.

These are plenty of reliable dining venues within central Larnaca, although in general, try to avoid the restaurants and familiar fast-food outlets targeting tourists, since the food is nothing special and is far from providing a memorable dining experience.

Restaurants in Larnaca often only open for evening dining, unless clearly indicated. Therefore, you can expect to start your Cypriot dinner anytime from 19:00 onwards, washing it down with delicious local wines and the highly alcoholic Cypriot beverage, Zivania.

Where to Eat

Plenty of inexpensive restaurants line the Athinou Avenue, in central Larnaca, providing basic fixed menus and suiting those looking for sheer convenience.

Unless the dining establishment is out of the ordinary, it will not be necessary to reserve your table in advance.

Larnaca's beachfront is lined with tavernas, cafes and seafood restaurants, catering mainly for tourists.

The Piyale Pasha is a reliable stretch to look for dining establishments in Larnaca, with its Varoshiotis Seafood Restaurant standing out from the crowd, along with the Militzis and the Monte Carlo, the latter of which boasts exceptional sea views and 'meze' platters - the perfect way to sample an array of Cypriot / Turkish dishes.
