Larnaca Hotels and Accommodation

(Larnaca, Cyprus)

Photo of beachfront lodging, complete with swimming poolsThere is a very reasonable selection of accommodation available to holiday makers in Larnaca, with hotels spread throughout the downtown area and close to the action. Further lodging lines the hotel stretch on the north-easterly side of the resort, where it is generally more modern in nature.

Hotels in the summer season are busy and expensive, especially if you want to stay near to the beach, although are noticeably cheaper than other busier areas of Cyprus. Accommodation overlooking the Mediterranean is understandably the most desirable in Larnaca, particularly where the guest rooms come complete with their own private balconies. Reliable choices include both Les Palmiers Sunotel on the Leoforos Athinon, and also the Onisillos Hotel on the Onisillou, just a short stroll to the west of the fort.

Where to Stay

Hotels in Larnaca will need to be reserved during the busy summer season. Outside of this time, available accommodation is usually relatively easy to come by. Worth noting, although the city is close to Larnaca Airport, since the flight path heads out over the Mediterranean, the noise from planes is quite minor.

The actual Larnaca district of Cyprus boasts almost 10,000 hotel beds, which equates to around ten percent of the island's total accommodation capacity.

An increasingly popular lodging option is self-catering apartments, which can be booked for a minimum of two days or more and generally offer very good value, particularly if you are holidaying here as part of a small group. Budget accommodation in Larnaca is certainly scarce, since this resort goes all out to target the lucrative family market. However, the HI Hostel is on hand for backpackers, being located on the Nikolaou Rossou and hidden within a historic old 'hamam / hammam' (Turkish bath).
