Ayia Napa enjoys a climate comprising a long and sunny summer season, followed by shorter, mild winters.

Summer is always a busy time to holiday at Ayia Napa, although the crowds of holiday makers certainly add life and excitement to the resort. The summer weather is always hot and between June and September, temperatures soar to more than 30°C / 86°F, when rain is virtually nonexistent and humidity levels increase.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

Due to the high temperatures and sunny weather, the beaches around Ayia Napa soon fill up during the summer months, with lines of sunbathers competing for the best tan. By evening, the mild climate lends itself to al fresco dining and outdoor activities, and as the evening progresses, the bars and nightclubs begin to throng with partygoers.

If you are not a fan of hot weather, then do consider coming to Ayia Napa in the spring, with temperatures staying around the 20°C / 68°F in March and April, and rising to 25°C / 77°F or 26°C / 79°F in May. The autumn climate too is an appealing time to holiday on Cyprus, although rainfall levels start to increase as the year comes to an end, peaking in December and January, when it can also be a little windy at times.
