Ayia Napa Restaurants and Dining

(Ayia Napa, Famagusta, Cyprus)

Al fresco dining at the Adams Beach HotelThe restaurants in Ayia Napa really do target the summer tourists and although it is fair to say that you certainly won't be going hungry, the cuisine on offer is nothing to write home about. Dining out at Ayia Napa's plentiful fast-food chains is always popular with holiday makers in this part of Cyprus, and these traditional eateries, cafes and tavernas are rarely more than 50 metres / 164 feet from each other.

Restaurants in Ayia Napa are amongst the most expensive on the island of Cyprus, although prices are hardly what you might call outrageous. If you are looking for something a little different than simply fast-food, then there are some reliable Cypriot dining venues, offering a selection of different small dishes (meze / mezedes).

Where to Eat

The main square in Ayia Napa is central to the nightlife scene, with pub balconies overlooking the revellers below. Various restaurants are also to be found clustered around the harbour, on the Leoforos Arhiepiskopou Makariou III. These include both the Esperia and the Vassos, where fine dining comes in the form of freshly caught Cypriot seafood, such as calamari, octopus and sea bass.

Also worth considering when dining out in Ayia Napa are the restaurants along the Theodosi Pieridi and the Dionysiou Solomou, such as the Potopoieion to Elliniko, and the Tsabra, respectively. Expect to enjoy everything from chargrilled steaks and shish kebabs, to barbecued lamb and suckling pig, washed down with the local Cypriot firewater - Zivania.
