Getting Around, Pierre Travel, Transport and Car Rental

(Pierre, South Dakota - SD, USA)

The transportation on offer in Pierre is fairly standard for a small city. Public shuttle bus transport is accompanied by car rental and a choice of taxis, all of which are reliable travel options at the city's nearby Regional Airport.

The city's very own Pierre Regional Airport is a fairly small facility, located just 5 miles / 8 km to the east of the city center. From the city center, the airport is reachable in around 12 minutes, by taking North Euclid Avenue and then East 4th Street.

Interestingly, there are only four state capitals in the United States not to be directly connected by an interstate highway, and Pierre is one of them. However, there are a number of main roads leading to and from the city, with Highway US-83 heading northwards, allowing drivers to travel all the way to the state of North Dakota.
