The Harbor Town Pier
If you have some spare time and don't know what yto do, then go to the Harbor Town Pier. Lots of fun water sports are based here. You can also watch the comings and goings of boats, or join a dolphin-spotting cruise. Equipment for the various water sports can be hired here and it doesn't feel like you're being ripped off.

Hilton Head - Harbor Town Lighthouse is a Must!
The Lighthouse in the Harbor Town has become nothing short of an emblem for the city, a real iconic structure. It is bright red and white, stripes, so you really cannot miss it. It isn't actually that old (1970) and isn't actually a lighthouse, although that's what most people seem to call it anyway, because it does have a flashing light on the top. I never really understood that anyway. Climb the steep steps and enjoy the nice views.

I Liked the Forest Beach
Forest Beach at Hilton Head was one of the best beaches I thought. It was nice and long, not too crowded and in places, really quiet. The center part has got quite a resort kind of feel about it, with hotels and shops and things like that. Head south for the quietest spots. If you are observant, you will find that you can even see Tybee Island across the water, especially on a nice clear day like I had when I was here.
