Atlantic City Restaurants and Dining

(Atlantic City, New Jersey - NJ, USA)

Atlantic City's dining is diverse and extensive, with a massive choice of fast food eateries, restaurants and dining options along the Atlantic City Boardwalk. These include an oversupply of burger, pizza and sandwich joints, as well as numerous diners and ethnic restaurants. All of the casinos in Atlantic City have restaurants serving up lunch and dinner buffets, while gourmet dining and seafood specialties are available all over town.

Opening Hours

The profusion of diners along Pacific Avenue open as early as 06:00 and don't close until late, and indeed, some even stay open 24 hours. As far as lunchtime and evening dining are concerned, Atlantic City's casino restaurants serve food all day, while the restaurants on the Atlantic City Boardwalk and beyond generally open for lunch for about 11:00 and again for dinner somewhere between 16:00 and 17:00, closing again at 14:00 and 21:00 or 22:00 respectively.

Wine and Beer

There are plenty of gourmet restaurants and wine bars in Atlantic City where you can savor the bouquet of many fine wines, including those of the nearby Renault Winery; America's oldest vineyard. In addition, many of the casinos are renowned for their excellence in fine dining and have well stocked wine cellars for every occasion.

Breakfast

The best places to head for breakfast in Atlantic City are those traditional American diners along Atlantic and Pacific avenues, where you will find cheap breakfast buffets and soul food. The Atlantic City Jitney, a fleet of minibuses operating along Pacific Avenue 24 hours per day, provides access between the casinos and is also useful for getting to and from the various eateries and restaurants.

Lunch

Depending on your budget, there are two real choices for lunch, apart from the diners in Atlantic City; with the casinos providing reasonably priced all-you-can-eat buffets and cheaper alternatives in the all-you-can-eat bracket in numerous joints along the Boardwalk. Quality certainly rests with the casinos.

Dinner

Atlantic City evening dining can be sophisticated or cheap, with a great choice of buffet restaurants in the casinos again, and plentiful gourmet alternatives and themed restaurants elsewhere in the city. The Atlantic City area also has its fair share of supper clubs and the quality of food in the burgeoning international eateries and restaurants is second to none, where Chinese, Vietnamese and African American cuisines abound.
