The Atlantic City Art Center is the most popular gallery in New Jersey and comes with a superb location to boot. Three spacious art galleries are featured here with works by professional artists, while those wishing to make a day of it will find a host of attractions conveniently close to the Atlantic City Art Center, with the best including the Showboat Hotel and Casino, the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, the Hard Rock Cafe and the Steel Pier Amusements.

The Avalon Gallery and the Noyes Museum are both close to Atlantic City and well worth a look; especially Noyes, which has some intriguing folk art from centuries gone by. Also deserving a mention, the Resort Graphics features some fine maritime art work and stands on the northern side of downtown, close to the Snug Harbor.

Located on Garden Pier along with the Atlantic City Historical Museum, the Atlantic City Art Center has a lovely setting and boasts three galleries that cover a huge space. The art center displays works by professional artists with varying media that change every month. This institution also serves as a venue for concerts and readings, and features an appealing gift shop.

Avalon Gallery

Part of the Ocean Galleries and situated approximately 36 miles / 58 km to the south of Atlantic City, the Avalon Gallery stands close to the Townsend's Inlet and displays quality works by contemporary artists, in a relaxed environment. There are originals here by renowned American artists, watercolors by local painters and some quality beach prints. The Avalon Gallery is also home to some handmade crafts and fine furniture.

Noyes Museum

The Noyes Museum is a little out of town (12 miles / 19 km to the north), but well worth the short journey if you are interested in seeing the arts of southern New Jersey. Inside you will discover numerous permanent 19th- to 21st-century folk art and contemporary American art exhibits, as well as a rather intriguing bird-decoy collection of Mr. Noyes. The museum is rarely more than a 20-minute drive from Atlantic City and has a wonderful setting on the banks of Lily Lake, adjacent to the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge and the Seaview Estate.

Resort Graphics

For those who are interested in maritime-related and seaside scenes in New Jersey, Resort Graphics features a number of authentic collections, such as that of the Great American Lighthouses Collection, showcasing 250 of America's Historic Lighthouses. Other collections include Donna Elias' Maritime Watercolors Collection, Surfboats by the Seashore, and Heroes of the American Coast. The nearby Atlantic City Aquarium is just a stroll away and comes with popular picnic grounds.
