Photo of the miniature Pirate's Cove Adventure GolfAlthough Bar Harbor may be just a small town and on the coast of the Mount Desert Island, visitors looking to play a round of golf will find a number of neighboring courses relatively close by. The nearest and most popular is the Kebo Valley Golf Course, which lies on the southwestern outskirts of Bar Harbor and off Kebo Street and Cromwell Harbor Road.

Founded more than 100 years ago and as far back as 1888, the Kebo Valley Golf Course is actually the eight-most historic golfing club in the whole of the USA and lies next to the Door Mountain, alongside the expansive Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor golfers should look out for American Bald Eagles as they play, since these magnificent birds can often be seen soaring high above the fairways.
