The Floridian climate in Tallahassee is typically hot, with hours and hours of sunny beach weather. Tallahassee has therefore become a popular tourist resort in Florida, with many attractions being outdoors and suitable for fine days.

From late May right until September, the climate of Tallahassee can become a little oppressive and extremely hot and humid. At this time of the year, temperatures regularly hang around 33°C / 91°F and may well even climb higher at times. Therefore, you should pack accordingly and bring your sun hat, sunglasses and plenty of sun lotion.


In the summer, the various beaches around Tallahassee soon fill up and everyone seems to have a suntan. However, if the heat is a little too much at the height of the day, this is the perfect time to visit an air-conditioned museum - and there are plenty to choose from.

The evening climate in the summer is warm and many people like to eat outside, although you may well need to wear a sweater or light jacket on some days. Spring and fall are very popular times to visit Tallahassee, with the weather being cooler and less humid, although temperatures still generally stay between 23°C / 73°F or 25°C / 77°F. Fall in particular is an exciting time, when the students are in back in the area for their new term at the Florida State University (FSU). Winters too are warm, but can be a little wet at times.
