There are a series of golf courses lying around downtown Tallahassee, with a further selection situated to the northeast of the city. Close to the city center and within the Woodland Drives neighborhood, the Capital City Country Club is easy to reach via South Monroe Street and lies beneath Myers Park, being just a few blocks away from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University campus.

To the southeast of downtown, the par-72 Hilaman Municipal Golf Course (formerly named the Winewood Country Club) offers 18 holes and is owned by the City of Tallahassee, who purchased the course in 1981 and thoroughly renovated it in the late 1990s. Golfers at Hilaman may like to take advantage of the regular lessons and clinics, or enjoy a meal after the game at the popular onsite restaurant named the 'Fat Sandwich'.
