Trujillo Art Galleries
(Trujillo, La Libertad, Peru)

Quality Peruvian art galleries may not be in good supply within Trujillo, but those available in the city have plenty to offer any keen art enthusiast. The Casa Ganoza Chopitea is close to the Iglesia de San Francisco and is widely considered by many as one of the best art galleries on offer in Trujillo.
This grand colonial mansion also goes by the name of the Casa de los Léones (House of the Lions) in Trujillo, since a pair of rather eye-catching ornate lions adorns its front door. The Casa Ganoza Chopitea is to be found on the Jiron Independencia, directly south of the Iglesia de Santa Clara.
Visitors can expect to find plenty of changing Peruvian paintings at its two main galleries (Salón de Varones and Salón de Damas), which are often of a contemporary flavour and exhibited alongside some rather eclectic and more unusual pieces.
Also of note in Trujillo is the Casa de Mayorazgo de Facala, which offers a small collection of art works and is also home to the Banco Weise. The Casa de Mayorazgo de Facala is easy to find and its grand architecture stands on the southerly outskirts of the Plaza de Armas, off the Bolognesi and Pizarro, and close to the Los Conquistadores Hotel.
