Freeport's entertainment hub
Live music lovers will fall for Count Basie Square and Port Lucaya Marketplace after spending just a couple of hours in the area. You should get there around seven or eight o'clock on an evening to catch a band's gig from the start. Even if you don't like music though, the square and the marketplace are regarded as both landmarks and points of interest.

A break from the beaches
If you've had enough of Freeport and its beaches one morning or afternoon, I would recommend a trip to Parliament Square Cultural Centre whether it is for a look around or a guided tour that will take up around half an hour of your time. Each room is dedicated to something different - very interesting!

Re. So tropical
I'm judging that you like the great outdoors, Melvyn? Maybe next time you can try Peterson Cay if you didn't already. It is smaller than the park you visited at just an acre and a half and is arguably one of the smallest of its kind in the Bahamas. It opened in 1959, so there is a lot of history too.

So tropical
I've never seen anything as lush as the twelve-acre Garden of the Groves and can see why it is regarded as one of the island's best tourist attractions. So many tropical plants and animals here that I'd never get to see in the rainy north of England!

The only casino in the Bahamas?
Not sure whether or not I was given misleading information, but I am told that the Casino at the Radisson Grand Lucayan is the only one of its kind found anywhere in the Bahamas. Over 35,000 feet of gambling space, around 400 slot machines, and more than 20 table games.
