Mallorca has a robust year-round events schedule, and most major festivals are celebrated in the capital of Palma, which is conveniently within easy reach of Palma Nova. These add colourful things to do each month, so it's worth timing your visit with a festival that particularly interests you.

- Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos - January 5th, the 'Three Kings' arrive in Palma and hand out gifts to children
- Sant Sebasti Day - January 19th, Palma hosts outdoor festivities and barbecues
- Sant Antoni Abat Day - mid Jan, processionals of livestock and pets take the streets of Palma

- Sa Rua - the week leading up to the Lenten Season includes a few last-minute celebrations across the island

- Holy Week - from Palm Sunday until Easter Sunday, processions held every day in Palma
- Good Friday (Viernes Santo) - late March / early April, a national Spanish public holiday

- Angel Sunday - Sunday after Easter, locals gather at Bellver Castle for food, games and all-around fellowship

- Labour Day (Fiesta del Trabajo) - May 1st, a national Spanish public holiday
- Moors and Christians (Moros i Cristians / Moros y Cristianos) - early May, celebrates a 16th-century victory against Turkish pirates with re-enactments

- Sant Pere Day - late June, honours the patron saint of fishermen, including a boat procession in Palma watched by crowds

- Pa Virgen del Carmen - July 16th, another boat procession, comprising all major ports in Mallorca
- Santa Catalina Thomas Day - late July, small festival staged in Velldemossa village

- Feast of the Assumption (La Asunción) - August 15th, a national Spanish public holiday
- Sant Bartomeu Day - August 24th, ancient festival with ritual dancing
- Sant Agusti Day - August 28th, music, dancing and a chess-themed parade in Felanitx

- Wine Fair - late September, part of a string of harvest festivals, staged in Binissalemi
- Melon Festival - mid-September, Vilafranca de Bonany hosts this fruit-centred event

- Botifarro Festival - early October, a blood sausage celebration wraps up the season of harvest-related events
- Hispanic Day (Dia de la Hispanidad / Fiesta Nacional de Espana) - October 12th, a national Spanish public holiday

- Dijous Bo - Inca hosts this high-profile annual market, which features leather goods, artisinal bread and cheese
- Junipero Serra Day - the birthday of this renowned monk is celebrated in communities across Mallorca
December
- Noche Buena - December 24th, the night before Christmas Day features a midnight service and nativity scene
- Feast of the Immaculate Conception (La Inmaculada Concepción) - December 8th, a national Spanish public holiday
- Santos Inocentes - December 28th, the 'April Fool's Day' of Spain
- Festa de l'Estendard - December 31st, New Year's Eve happens to be the day that the Christian conquest seized Mallorca from the Moors. A street procession and special Mass celebrate the occasion
