The Jazz Festival
If you are visiting Marbella at the beginning of May, then it is likely that you will have the good fortune to enjoy the sounds of the International Jazz Festival. Better still, try to coincide your holiday with this event. There was live music all over the city, particularly on the beach and the promenade. There was even a really fabulous laser show at one point. We felt extremely lucky to have t ime our holiday with all of this fun.

Spend an Afternoon at the nearby Puerto Banus
The Puerto Banus is part of the Spanish Costa del Sol and is very close to Marbella. It is a fairly small resort and does't have all the attractions by any means, but it is a great place to come for an afternoon. Lots of very wealthy people moor theirs boats and swanky yachts here, and live in nearby Marbella. There are loads of outdoor eateries around the harbour, where we enjoyed a glass of wine and some glorious distant mountain views. If you wanted to, you could easily spend an entire day shopping here, although it is quite an expensive area. Boat trips are available if youhave the time - and money! We left at the end of the afternoon, but I am told that the nightlife at the Puerto Banus is not far short of legendary.
