Lodz Shopping and Districts

(Lodz, Western Mazovia, Poland)

Picture showing shops in the city centreThe city of Lodz is a great place to experience some excellent Polish shopping and there are plenty of different places to shop all over the city. Many tourists find that shopping at local markets in Lodz is a good place to pick up some extremely inexpensive souvenirs and also some good quality silver jewellery at bargain prices.

However, it is along the Ulica Piotrkowska where the best shopping is to be found and this lengthy commercial street is amongst the longest of its kind in existence, anywhere.

Where to Shop

Further shops are scattered all around central Lodz and line many of the streets and lanes intersecting the Ulica Piotrkowska itself.

The Ulica Ogrodowa lies off the Ulica Piotrkowska and is home to the Manufaktura, a modern and extremely popular shopping mall housed within a former factory, and home not only to shops, but also a cinema, gallery and museum.

Image of the ManufakturaThe Lodz Manufaktura shopping centre is huge and boasts more than 300 different retail units, selling everything from designer clothes to an array of flavoured vodkas, with the flagship stores including both Rosenthal and Leroy Merlin.

Located on the far western side of Lodz and along the Ulica Pilsudskiego, the Galeria Lodzka is another excellent modern shopping mall and opened as recently as 2002.

Here you will find a total of 160 different shops and eateries, all housed under one roof, together with an adjacent car park with almost 1,500 spaces.
