Temperatures are perhaps at their most inviting and pleasant during Szeged's autumn season, when rainy weather is rare and daylight hours reasonably long.

January and February are the coldest months of the year in Szeged, when the climate regularly experiences frosty spells and even snowfalls overnight, at times making the roads slippery and quite treacherous.
