Getting Around, Dresden Travel, Transport and Car Rental

(Dresden, Saxony, Germany)

Picture of city tramDresden is tucked away on the eastern side of the country, which makes reaching it by means other than air travel a little difficult. However, bus transport operated by Eurolines provides international connections by road, while an efficient railway service around the Dresden area offers travel from a large number of regional, national and international destinations.

All ground transportation options are considerably slower than flying into Dresden Klotsche Airport, which is by far the most convenient option.

Dresden Klotsche Airport (DRS) / Arriving by Air

Situated north-east of the city centre, Dresden Klotsche Airport is the facility by which the majority of international visitors will travel to the city of Dresden. The airport maintains connections with a large number of domestic destinations, as well as a good selection of major European cities.

From the airport to the city, passengers can take advantage of direct and frequent rail transport, with speedy trains regularly departing. The city of Dresden can also be reached by a combination of bus and tram transport, or if convenience is a higher priority, taxi travel is also available.
