Getting Around, Vantaa Travel, Transport and Car Rental

(Vantaa, Uusimaa, Southern Finland, Finland)

Picture of roads leading to and from VantaaThis city is primarily known for being home to the Finnish transport hub that is Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, a major facility which sees approaching 15 million annual passengers travelling through its gates. Once in Vantaa, the main way to travel around the city is to use the popular public transport, namely buses.

Those looking to choose to travel outside of the city of Vantaa itself and explore both Greater Helsinki and southern Finland will find that the best transport options are trains, long-distance buses and hire cars. However, those who do drive into nearby Helsinki will soon realise this is an extremely busy city, with regular traffic congestion problems and a definite lack of parking spaces.

Buses and Trains

Buses and trains transport passengers to various locations outside of the city, including Helsinki. Vantaa also operates its very own bus network, which covers the majority of the city and is amongst the most inexpensive ways to travel between attractions and hotels.

However, many of the most central sights are just as easily reached by foot.
