Picture of Helsinki shopsThose who choose to shop in Vantaa should bear in mind that the largest selection of shops in the whole of Finland is just down the road, in Helsinki. However, for most, those shopping in Vantaa will far from disappointed and unless you are looking for something only available in Helsinki, you will find that the shopping opportunities here are both plentiful and less crowded.

Even as you fly into Helsinki Vantaa Airport you will immediately be greeted by a good choice of shops, selling inexpensive food, drink and fashion accessories. Bear in mind that when shopping in Finland, it is likely that you will be able to claim you sales tax back, when you leave the country.

Where to Shop

Amongst the biggest malls in Finland, the Jumbo Shopping Centre in Vantaa is open Monday through Sunday and is home to around 120 different shops, eateries and businesses. With more than 4,500 parking spaces, a large hypermarket and many flagship shops, such as the Stockmann department store, and can be easily found next to the Ring Road III, close to the Vantaa Airport exit. The Jumbo Shopping Centre even features its very own children's playground, complete with supervisors offering a range of engaging activities.

Also worthy of some time is Vantaa's well-equipped Myyrmanni Shopping Centre, which is located on the Iskoskuja and next to the Myyrmäki train station. Here you will find around 120 stores, many of which are fashion boutiques selling everything from inexpensive accessories to pricey designer goods.
