The Heureka Science Centre
The Heureka Science Centre is probably the number one attraction in Vantaa, certainly for families anyway. When you get here, you will soon see why. it is just a lot of fun, very big and very enjoyable. People even come here from Helsinki, which is just a short train ride away.

Vantaa's Science Museum
I took my children here and we spent an entire afternoon playing will all of the gadgets and science toys. The wind tunnel was one of my favourite bits, oh, and the musical drainpipes. It is really close to the Tikkurila train station. My daughter particularly enjoyed the moonwalk simulator, where she was able to pretend she was an astronaut. You can even try to have a go at cycling across a tight rope - so people managed it! Don't miss it, and join in with the others to make the water mill actually start working.

Much more than just planes at the Finnish Aviation Museum
This wonderful museum is close to the Helsinki Vantaa Airport and because we arrived at the airport with a lot of time on our hands, we decided to come here as a fill in. I'm so glad we did and the simulators were ace. There were about 70 different planes as well, and we were able to sit in some of them - good last-minute photo opportunity methinks.
