Glastonbury Weather, When to Go and Climate Information

(Glastonbury, Somerset, England, UK)

Summer view of the Tor itselfTypically English in character, Glastonbury enjoys a somewhat unpredictable climate at times, although in general, the summer weather tends to be sunny for much of the time. From May until the beginning of October, daytime temperatures in Glastonbury tend never to stray too far from 20°C / 68°F, although July and August can be especially hot.

Rainy weather also often plays a part in the British summer climate and Glastonbury is certainly no exception to this. However, it rarely rains for days on end, and so if you are on holiday for at least a week, you should be confident of some fine days.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

Those planning to enjoy the music and bands at the Glastonbury Festival in late June will likely be aware that the weather at this time of the year is something of a 'mixed bag', with some years enjoying endless sun, while other years experience heavy rain, resulting in much mud. During many years, the summer climate can last well into autumn, with late September and early October being especially warm.

Winters in Glastonbury are usually relatively mild and a little damp, with overnight frosts most likely between December and February. Although heavy snowfalls are uncommon, they are not unheard of in some winters, although rarely at Christmas time.
