Photo of town centre shopsFor the best shopping that Glastonbury has to offer, head to the High Street and explore its colourful local stores. A number of interconnecting streets provide further shopping around Glastonbury's High Street area, such as both Benedick Street and Northload Street, which lead towards the busy Market Place. The recently opened Gauntlet Thoroughfare is home to a collection of specialist stores and lies off the High Street.

Tourists shopping for souvenirs of Glastonbury will find a number of 'New Age' and witchcraft themed shops, selling everything from tied-dyed T-shirts and oil burners, to joss sticks, crystals, precious stones, handmade silver jewellery and pagan goods. There are also more than enough local stores selling postcards of the Tor itself and other prominent views.

Where to Shop

Although the shopping scene in Glastonbury is quite reasonable, many tourists choose to head next door to the small town of Street. It is here where you will find the spreading Clarks Village shopping complex and its plentiful supply of big-name discount stores, which number almost 100 and sell everything from end of line M&S clothing and cheap Clarks shoes, to designer good, and seconds of both Denby pottery and crystal ware.

There is also a selection of eateries and hot food stands located around the Clarks Village, with outdoor seating during the summer months. Families visiting from Glastonbury will also find a large playground area and a number of toy shops.
