(Norwich, Norfolk, England, UK)

Picture of the famous Pulls Ferry buildingIt is not always easy to predict the climate of Norwich, other than to say that the summers are fairly warm, and the winters can be cold. In general, the winter weather in Norwich is a little milder than that experienced in northern England, whilst being cooler than the climate of London and the south-west.

December, January and February are reliably the coldest months in Norwich, when brief periods of snowy weather can be expected at times, although it has to be said that a white Christmas is a rarity anywhere in England. Daytime temperatures at this time of the year average around 7°C / 45°F, feeling colder when the Norfolk winter winds are out and about.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

Norfolk is a fairly dry part of England and it does enjoy less rain than other areas of England, due to much of the wet weather arriving from the west and drying out by the time that it reaches Norwich. The summer climate of Norwich is pleasant, without being overly hot, sticky and uncomfortable. Highs in July and August are known to exceed 25°C / 77°F during the sunniest of weather, although average 22°C / 72°F by day, and 11°C / 52°F by night.

The Norwich climate in spring is often somewhat unpredictable, although by the time that May arrives, the longer days see a noticeable rise in temperatures and sunshine hours. Some years, May can actually be one of the sunniest months of the year, although this can obviously not be guaranteed.
