Over the decades, Merseyside has certainly gained quite a reputation in the world of English golf, with many historic and highly respected courses being spread around the Liverpool region. Some of the golf courses are located within the city itself, while other clubs are within driving distance, being found at nearby suburbs such as Holylake and Southport.

Worth looking out for is the Royal Liverpool Golf Club at Holylake. Tiger Woods actually played here in 2006, winning the Open championship for his third time. Visitors are welcomed at Holylake, although do be ready to dip into your pocket, since the green fees are rather pricey here.
