Hartlepool Beaches

(Hartlepool, County Durham, England, UK)

View of the coastal bus station at Seaton CarewFor many holiday makers visiting Hartlepool, the surrounding beaches are something of an unexpected attraction, with the town's small rocky beach named Fish Sands being close to the remains of the Town Wall. A large number of the beaches near to Hartlepool are quite natural in their appearance, such as the expansive Seaton Commons and Dunes.

Most beach-goers will find that Seaton Carew is the place to come and is a matter of minutes from the south of Hartlepool town centre, being reached along the coastal A178 road, which changes its name on the way, being known as the Mainsforth Terrace, Coronation Drive, The Cliff and Tees Road. Located between both Hartlepool and the very mouth of the meandering River Tees, Seaton Carew draws sunbathers all through the summer, although the crowds also flock here out of season, on the nearest Saturday to November 5th, when its coastal fireworks display is simply spectacular.
